If you received an email from us and you never gave us your address, this page explains where we got it, why we contacted you, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted. It takes about two minutes to read.

We are Conserve Safari Asset Management, the operator of Conserve Safari, which runs tented camps in Tanzania's Serengeti and Tarangire National Parks. For anything on this page — questions, requests, complaints — write to info@conservesafari.com and it will reach the person responsible for our contact data.
We are the data controller for the information described below, which means we decide what is held and why, and we are the ones accountable for it.
Very little, and only what was publicly visible. Specifically:
We hold no private messages, no personal or home contact details, no payment information, and nothing you have not published yourself. We did not build a profile of you beyond these four fields.
You did not give it to us. We collected it from publicly available sources — principally public Instagram profiles and the business contact details published on them. Nothing was obtained from a private account, a purchased list, or a third-party data broker.
To make a single business partnership enquiry: to ask whether you might be interested in working with our camps. That is the only purpose. We do not sell, rent, or share this information with anyone else, and we do not use it to advertise to you elsewhere.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK and EU GDPR. The legitimate interest is identifying and approaching potential business partners. We have weighed that against your interests and concluded it is proportionate because the data was already public, it is business rather than private contact information, the volume held is minimal, the approach is one-off rather than an ongoing campaign, and you can stop it in one reply. If you disagree with that balance, you can object — see below, and we will act on it.
If you do not respond, we delete your details 365 days after we contacted you. No follow-up campaign, no moving you to another list, no retention "just in case." The only exception is a minimal do-not-contact record — your email address and nothing else — which we keep permanently so that we do not contact you again by mistake.
If you do respond and we go on to discuss a partnership, we keep your details for as long as that conversation or relationship is live, because at that point you are a business contact rather than an enquiry. You can still ask us to delete them at any time.
And we delete on request, whenever that request arrives — before the 365 days, after it, or in the middle of a conversation.
Either of these works, and neither requires you to explain yourself:
We will delete your details and you will not hear from us again. We aim to do this within a few days and will complete it within one month at the outside.
This website carries the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta (Facebook and Instagram). When you open a page it records that visit and sends it to Meta, together with your IP address, your browser and device, and the page you were on. It sets cookies in your browser so it can recognise you across visits. We use it to see which pages people find useful, and to show our advertising to people who have taken an interest in our camps.
This is separate from the outreach described above. It sees people who visit this website; it has nothing to do with how we came by your email address.
You can stop it. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or running a content blocker, prevents it from loading at all. You can also control how Meta uses your data for advertising in your Meta account settings, or — if you do not have an account — through youronlinechoices.eu in Europe or youradchoices.com elsewhere. Nothing on this site is withheld from you for refusing it.
If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to ask what we hold about you and receive a copy, to have anything inaccurate corrected, to have it erased, to ask us to restrict how we use it, and to object to our use of it at any time. Where you object to contact of this kind, we will stop — there is no balancing test we get to apply.
You are also entitled to complain to a data protection authority if you think we have handled your information badly. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In the EU it is the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work.
We would rather hear from you first at info@conservesafari.com, but that is your choice, not a requirement.
